Anthropic dropped a massive update on November 24th, and it's a game-changer for developers. Here's everything you need to know.
Claude Opus 4.5: the November 2025 release
Anthropic introduced Opus 4.5 on November 24, 2025 and reported leading results on selected coding, agent and computer-use evaluations. Those vendor results do not establish superiority on every task.
What makes it special?
- Handles ambiguity without hand-holding
- Figures out complex multi-system bugs on its own
- Tasks that were impossible for Sonnet 4.5 weeks ago are now within reach
- Anthropic reported fewer output tokens on specific comparisons; total cost still depends on rates, input, retries and workload.

Claude Code Now Lives in the Mac App
This is the big one. Claude Code is no longer terminal-only. It's now built directly into the Claude desktop app with a proper GUI.

Run Claude Code on your Mac with full access to:

Claude can now control your browser. The Chrome extension is available to all Max subscribers.
What it does:

You browse. Claude works in the background. Minimal context switching.
Longer conversations through summarization
The release added automatic summarization of earlier context in long Claude conversations.
Summarization can extend a conversation within the available context window. It can lose detail, and usage, output and product limits still apply. Keep important decisions in inspectable source artifacts.
What This Means
We're entering a new phase of AI-assisted development:
