Leg day, a Mexican recharge, and a home spa with unusually serious quality control.

Sunday began with leg day. By afternoon, stairs had become a design flaw.

The session was done. Then home to rest with Maxi, who had ideas of his own.

Training supplies the stimulus. Adaptation is built in the quieter hours after it: protein, fluids, sleep and enough restraint not to turn one hard session into three bad ones. Rest does not look advanced. That may be one of its advantages.

Train, Then Recharge

Later, we went to a Mexican restaurant. Calling it a “recharge” still gives dinner more administrative authority than it deserves.

Carbohydrate after training can help replenish muscle glycogen. Useful, yes. Magical metabolic reset, no. It was food after training, plus the very normal pleasure of enjoying it with family.

The useful skill is enjoying one meal and carrying on without drama.

The Highly Advanced Spa Protocol

At night, the apartment became a spa. Sofi and the kids handled the treatment. Soon, two people in white facial masks were making faces of extraordinary seriousness.

Warmth, touch, quiet and laughter helped us downshift and made tension feel smaller. That was enough.

The face masks may have helped our skin. My quadriceps remained completely unmoved.

Recovery is not only tissue repair. It is also keeping the routine pleasant enough that the next session still feels chosen. Training, food, rest and a ridiculous family ritual can all belong to the same Sunday.
