Samurai

The recharge weekend, concluded — at a zen-samurai finca outside Santa Fe de Antioquia. Batteries full, back to the protocol. Plus the seven virtues of Bushido, read as a biohacker.

Samurai — Biohacking
The finca committed to the bit. I enjoyed the katana more than I’ll admit.

Mission accomplished. The assignment was simple — go to a finca outside Santa Fe de Antioquia, recharge, and avoid becoming insufferable about it. Sun, water, fire, zero agenda; batteries back to full. Now back to Medellín, back to the protocol, with something in the tank to actually spend.

The rest of the brief: pool, grill, sun, nothing to answer to.

The place leaned all the way into the theme: a Buddha, a bed of raked sand, a katana on the wall, and a plaque of the seven virtues of Bushido. The aesthetic is my kind of thing — zen, discipline, the old warrior code — and stripped of the costume, a lot of it maps onto biohacking cleaner than the usual motivational sludge.

The seven virtues of Bushido

Las 7 Virtudes del Bushido plaque
The Bushido plaque on the wall at the finca.

Here they are in English, kanji intact, and what each one quietly asks of a protocol:

VirtueThe codeThe biohack
義 Gi
Justice
Only right and wrong — no shades of grey. The protocol is binary: shot taken, macros hit, hours slept. The spreadsheet isn’t interested in vibes.
礼 Rei
Respect
Strength with nothing to prove; courteous even to an enemy.Respect the body as the real opponent — deload before it sends you the invoice, with interest.
勇 Yū
Courage
Heroic, but intelligent — never blind.Courage is the bloodwork and the needle — not confusing pain with a personality.
名誉 Meiyo
Honor
You are your own only judge.Honor is what you keep when no one is watching and nothing is tracking it.
仁 Jin
Benevolence
Strength trained hard, then spent for the good of all.Build capacity, not a shrine — the whole point of the strength is having more to give.
誠 Makoto
Honesty
To speak and to do are the same action.Say the protocol once, then do it. Monday is a software update, not a plan.
忠義 Chūgi
Loyalty
You own what you said, and every consequence that follows.Loyalty is the boring repetition kept on the day you least feel it.

That’s the loop: recover fully so there’s something to spend, then spend it. Recharge is on the calendar now — a weekly block, same as any other part of the protocol.
